Optimus quickly popped out from the stairwells on the second floor, waving a brief greeting to the bemused guards who already had orders to ignore the weird behavior of their Prime. He began his search automatically, going down the hall and scanning each room as he passed through it. It was a bit difficult, as the smaller mech could fit in several areas that Optimus himself could not, and remembering to check all the possibilites was an amusing challenge.
He was being as quiet as he could while still moving at a fast clip; in the quiet of the Prime's Housing, it was still too loud. The minibot could probably hear him coming from several rooms away, as the doors to many of the inner chambers were left open for the sunlight and breeze to pass through from outside.
Not that he minded. It was part of the fun of the chase if Cliffjumper was actually able to flee. And any noise on the minibot's part would lead Optimus to his location in turn.
