Further, confidence in itself made it easier to stand firm and believe you'd be able to do whatever what would needed done, so Megatron just smirked, and perhaps straightened a bit, unconsciously probably nearly preening.

Hardly naïve, it was simply not the first thing to pop up in his processor, even if he sometimes tended to throw around innuendo like it was energon goodies.
