"I have plans to make my way through as much of planet as I can, often focusing on the worst of our areas, cycling through zones and cities before moving on to the next, over and over, for as long as I am on-world and Prime." Which would be until he died, excepting the unlikely event of a public rejection from the Matrix.
"I don't announce it, to the area or my team, until the day of, so no one can be...informed and prepared ahead of time. I won't even be telling you or the others ahead of time when or where."
He was pretty smug about the idea and measures he had taken; no Prime since those before the last Golden Age had really made an attempt to connect to the regular masses; Nova Prime would have spat on the Matrix before slumming it with the regular folk.
"I have an open Primacy frequency and databox for just that very thing." Optimus chuckled, having expected the question, still eying Megatron as he circled. "It's listed on the public network. And I go through it myself, except when someone tries to get cute and sends a virus or death threat. Then my team gets in on it."
He shrugged. Optimus hardly needed to tell a rebel leader how often someone tried to assassinate him daily.
Still too many. But the numbers had gone down once they'd realized he at least wasn't going to make things worse.
"I listen. I don't always follow everything they've told me, and I certainly don't trust them blindly. I've gone through at least three aids and twelve financial specialists so far, rooting out those who are paid off, leaking information, preforming various levels of sabotage, and, in one memorable case, was trying to sell scandalous holo-images to the slag sites."
Optimus chuckled to himself. That had been an amusing cycle.
