Ratchet approached with a sort of dread anticipation, unsure if he should be curious about the aberration inside Megatron's frame - or horrified. He didn't yet know enough.
"So you said it hasn't always been there? And you don't even know what it is?" The medic boggled, leaning in for a closer look. This was why a full inspection should have occurred when they first acquired him! The former rebel could have had a bomb in his damned chest for all they could have known!
Optimus allowed Ratchet to approach first, taking a moment to quietly station Ironhide and the others outside. It was only an excuse though. The sight of Megatron up on the berth had set his engines redlining as he fought to contain the insistent rumble. He wanted, and the points on his frame ached. The pressure was reminiscent of the pain of a too-long-recessed-spike lodged in it's housing, which was ridiculous.
A few, heavy ventilations later, the door was closed with guards properly guarding, and Optimus approached, eager to hear the explanation himself.
Perhaps he would find time to mediate as well, and search the Matrix for answers if Megatron had none.
