O: They seemed to have lost whatever crowd had reached the roof - or at least, were far enough ahead that they didn't have to worry about being spotted in the dark.
The final jump is successful, but sends Optimus to his knees, skidding several feet across the rooftop and striking up sparks, but he's up and running again with no more than a grunt and the heaving of his engine.
"...Good. You're...heavier than you look." His laugh is more static that amusement, but the humor is still there. Cliffjumper wouldn't be that heavy if it weren't for the damages, and the shot arm is putting out errors now. He veers toward the side of the roof, chancing a glance down with optics and scanners both. The area seems deserted, though the sounds of the chaos behind them is too close for his tastes.
He doesn't stop until they hit the end of the block, and the road. Then, with a final scan of the alley below, he starts climbing over the edge of the roof.
"...Hang on tight."
CJ: "Pfft, I think someone ought to upgrade his parameters, if a truck thinks a minibot's heavy." While it was a joke, and he did hear the humour, the fact that they had slid the amount they did across the roof, and that Optimus was expressing - however roundabout - concerns of Cliffjumper being heavy, indicated the injuries was getting to the bodyguard.
And besides Cliffjumper not liking the ncessecity of someone taking injuries for him (besides the fact that it was Optimus' job), he kind of needed it in situations like this, which meant that injuries bogging Optimus down had Cliffjumper more vulnerable. Even if he had a stasis-shot gun and a normal blaster tucked away in subspace right now.
Who knew how long he'd get to keep those?
"I'm hangin'. Gonna be able to..." Cliffjumper frowned, and as Optimus swung over the side, he did manage to twitch the leg hit first. "Huhn. Yeah, should be fine soon." Not exactly the moment they hit the street, obviously, but soon after that. So as long as they didn't get jumped when they hit the street, they'd be fine (though if they were, there was that riot control further down the street).
