The only plus was that they'd managed to take out most of the swarm before the weapon had failed, and Optimus quickly took out the last of the cloakers he could see - not that that stopped him from firing randomly around the stairwell, just in case. He managed a smug thrum when it stirred up a group of two that had been waiting, motionless on an overhang, and once they were down it was silent again.
Except for the distant sounds of reinforcements stampeding down the stairs.
::...Come on, forget the gun. Down we go.:: He ducked down to scoop Cliffjumper right back up against him with one arm, turning to the stairs hopefully before any of the potentially remaining cloakers could regain their nerve.
