The only thing Mirage got for his pointed stare and comment was a stubborn glare right back and a huff - there was some tension in his shoulders which angled the wheels there slightly oddly because yes, he was sort of feeling guilty.

Well, he'd already partly apologised, but what he would continue to not apologise for as interrupting what he'd thought was a bad situation.
So there.
"So what's usually... uh, public and not?" He wasn't precisely interested, but at the same time he did want to know. Whatever else happened, to actually have some insight into Mirage wasn't something the minibot would say no to.
