Mirage's week, however, was spent prepping for the mission, treating it like a long-term infiltration assignment. Which it had technically become one.

After sending Cliffjumper the information packet, Mirage spent his time packing in-between meetings with Prime, Jazz, and even with the ambassadors. They were eager to continue meeting with the High Priest when not being escorted around the base by other members of the command staff, or going on carefully guarded tours outside the base.

A few meditation sessions - and a somewhat hotly worded discussion with Prime - later, Mirage was still rather displeased with Cliffjumper's required role as 'acolyte', but marginally more comfortable with it than before.

Marginally. And only because Optimus, in between assuring him he felt there was little wrong with it, made those optics at him. No one could say no to that.

Finally, after spending a extra long session with Tracks to make sure he was properly primped and polished, Mirage showed up at Cliffjumper's door once more on the day of their scheduled departure.
