But on the other hand, it would probably not have worked, either way. Since even if they'd had met recently, Cliffjumper knew he 'should' still have been an Acolyte. Part of Mirage's reaction when they found out he was sensitive was, after all, surprise that he hadn't been snapped up by a temple.
Frankly, Cliffjumper was nervous. There was a lot hinging on them in general not being found out as lying, and him in particular. Cliffjumper resisted the urge to wrap his arms around himself.
Like slag he'd do that where Mirage (or anyone else except Bee) could see.
