While he could have easily remarked that she could easily be lying to him right now, he was quite tired of the circular logic.
And he was starting to actually believe her. It was easier to trust, anyway.

"I think this should work out pleasantly."
Believing that the programming wasn't that strong was good to hear - rumors and his own doubts easily exaggerated things. But he was still going to talk to his new medic about it once she was gone.
