She pokes around, weaving around the seemingly precariously stacked piles with the ease of familiarity. The Honda with the missing back end was gone, bought last Tuesday; the old Hippymobile was still around, friendly paint giving in to rust; and the Caddy was still there, sitting slumped in it's usual dusty spot of 'glory', despite the group of poor boys down the street who liked to make noise about buying it someday.
Frowning, Mikaela shook her head at it.
"Huh. Tony 'should be paying me to do inventory for him at this point."
She starts to turn back, but something - some faint sense, some mostly forgotten feeling itching at the primitive back of her brain, like static- makes her pause.
She spins on the spot, warily glancing around, keys and mace easily finding their place in her hand.
